App Home & Interactions ​

YapHub brings its intelligence directly to where your team already communicates: Slack. Let's explore the App Home tab—the central dashboard for you and your team to manage and view all recorded knowledge, without ever needing to open a separate web portal.

The App Home: Your Management Console ​

The App Home is your main hub. Instead of a messy list of files or complicated searchable folders, YapHub organizes your knowledge into three distinct views you can select from a dropdown. Each view features a specific set of tools (via the three-dots "Overflow Menu") tailored to what you are looking at:

1. Thematische Lijsten (Categories) ​

Groupings like "HR Forms" or "AI Resources". Available Actions:

  • Nieuwe Lijst (New List): Create a custom grouping.
  • Abonneren / Uitschrijven (Subscribe/Unsubscribe): Opt-in to receive notifications for this list. A :bell: icon indicates you are subscribed.
  • Bekijken (View): Instantly navigate to all Knowledge Items specifically filed under this category.
  • Bewerken (Edit): Modify the category name, description, and default target groups.
  • Verwijderen (Delete): Remove the category.

2. Kennis Items (Knowledge Items) ​

The actual articles, links, or notes saved by your team. YapHub uses smart text truncation to keep your dashboard clean, showing preview snippets for long content. Available Actions:

  • Uitvouwen / Inklappen (Expand/Collapse): Read the full text of an article seamlessly right in Slack without leaving the App Home, or collapse it back to a preview.
  • Samenvattingen (Summaries): Jump directly to the custom AI Summaries generated for this item.
  • Bewerken (Edit): Modify the knowledge text or its tags.
  • Verwijderen (Delete): Delete the knowledge completely.

3. AI Samenvattingen (AI Summaries) ​

Read specifically adapted summaries tailored to specific audiences (like Developers, Management, etc.). Available Actions:

  • Uitvouwen / Inklappen (Expand/Collapse): Read the full AI-generated text or collapse it.
  • Bewerken (Edit): Manually adjust or rewrite the AI's summary if it missed a nuance.
  • Regenereren (Regenerate): Tell the AI to throw out the current summary and try writing a new one.
  • Geschiedenis (History): View previous summary attempts to roll back to a better version.

Additional Features ​

  • Organized Pagination: Easily leaf through growing repositories using simple "Next" and "Previous" buttons at the bottom of lists.

Adding Knowledge Easily ​

While editing, managing, and reading are handled seamlessly on the App Home screen, Adding new knowledge uses a dedicated, easy-to-use pop-up form (Modal).

There are a few intuitive ways to add new information:

1. The "Toevoegen" Button ​

By clicking the primary Toevoegen (Add) button right at the top of the App Home, a pop-up form appears asking for the details. You can type notes here, drop a URL link, assign it a category, and specify if it's meant for a certain department.

2. Saving Direct from Chat ​

When a teammate writes an important message in a channel, you don't need to copy and paste it to save it. You can simply hover over their message, find the "Opslaan in Kennishub" (Save to Knowledge Hub) shortcut, and YapHub automatically pulls the text into the saving pop-up for you.

3. URL Detection ​

YapHub is smart! If you copy-paste an article link into a recognized team channel, the bot will notice and privately ask you: "Save this to Knowledge Hub?". It makes gathering information effortless.
